We were thrilled to bring 8 lucky Fifth Years to Uniphar today for the launch of the Business in the Community mentoring programme.
Students and staff were welcomed warmly by Angelica Luminisa & the Uniphar team, together with Alison Norman representing the Business in the Community group.
Students heard a summary of Uniphar's work across the pharmaceutical industry, from distribution systems, support for drug development and operating local chemists. Alison, representing the Business in the Community Team shared the importance and impact of the mentoring programme - only open to 40 schools across the country.
Students had their first informal mentoring meeting over a tasty lunch in the staff canteen.
The programme continues through Fifth and Sixth years. We can't wait to hear how it goes!
Congratulations to all students taking part and thank you to Ms Murphy, Programmes Coordinator who shaped the opportunity for our students.
Thanks also to Business in the Commmunity for bridging this partnership with Uniphar and the fantastic group of mentors.
