Both our Transition year classes got the great opportunity to visit Microsoft campus in Leopardstown yesterday. Here they took part in Dreamspace. This was a 3 hour work shop where they gained valuable information of the working of a large multinational company.
They learnt about the history of the building, the reasons for its unique design. The different types of jobs that you can apply for and the perks involved in a multinational and an insight into the many different department that Microsoft has. They were also given a tour of the campus and brought to the top floor where they could see as far as Bray and Dun Laoghaire.
The second half of their visit was interactive, here they learn't about Cyber security, software development and Civil engineering. There were many conundrums they had to figure out, make their own computer game with coding and have a competition in civil engineering where they had to design and create a tunnel using paper. This got very competitive!!
Well done to group H for winning the conundrums and congratultions to everyone for their participation and creativity.
