Mount Seskin Community was honoured this afternoon to have a visit from Adam Olaniyan, World Youth Boxing Champion and past student of MSCC.
In October, Adam, who is a past student from Mount Seskin CC and super-heavyweight boxer, defeated Shakzod Polvonov from Uzbekistan to win the world title. Adam has worked hard throughout his early boxing career, and previously gained the title of European Youth and Euro Schoolboys champion.
Adam was a fantastic student with strong attendance and commitment throughout his time at MSCC. He is an incredible role model for all of our young people and we were proud as a school to welcome him back today.
Adam had a warm welcome from our staff team who met him with a standing ovation. He welcomed students in our gates after lunch to much excitement, and generously toured the school giving students a chance to see his prestigious gold trophy and medal.
Adam reminded students of the importance of attendance bringing to a close our Attendance drive this week: ‘Attend Today, ACHIEVE TOMORROW!’ He drew out winners for the attendance raffle rewarding students who came in this week with prizes including vouchers, hampers and a delicious cake.
Thanks to Adam for his time today and congratulations on representing our school, Jobstown and of course Ireland so well in all he does.
Thanks also to Ms Doody and the wider HSCL team for facilitating an energising Attendance Drive focussing on what really matters for success in school.
